Computer Check Up

Your computer needs routine maintenance, or routine check ups to function properly. Depending on how behind your system is when it comes to routine maintenance or computer check up, you may need to spend some time getting it back up to speed. The following information represents some of the more important tips for performing the computer check up.

First of all, to understand how the computer check up works, you need to understand why it needs to be done in the first place. Your computer is prone to errors, this is a given from the get go. Slow PC performance, DLL errors, corrupt installation files, and more are some of the common issues that you can experience. You can get rid of these issues in just a handful of steps. If you are properly maintaining your PC and performing routine computer check ups, then you may be able to prevent these issues from occurring in the first place.

One of the first steps that you might consider taking is running the disk defragmenter which can create a more readable and efficient file system. Here are the steps for running the defragmenter:

Vista
1. Click Start.
2. Click Accessories.
3. Click System Tools.
4. Click Disk Defragmenter.
5. Click Defragment Now.

Be sure that you have selected “Select All Disks” before you actually run the Defragmenter to insure that all available disks are analyzed and defragmenter. Once the program starts, you can simply let it carry out its task.

XP
1. Click Start.
2. Click Accessories.
3. Click System Tools
4. Click Scan Disk
5. Select the C: drive and then run Scan Disk
6. When complete, execute steps 1 to 4 again, this time substituting Disk Defragmenter for Scan Disk in step 4.
7. Select the C: drive and then run the defragmenter.

You can then let the process run in it’s entirety until it has completed. In the end, you’ll have a more organized and more manageable file system.

Once the defragmenter is complete, then you may want to scan your system with a registry cleaner if you have one. The registry cleaner will scan and analyze the system registry which is located in your PC operating system. If errors are found in the registry, they can automatically be repaired.

Your computer is bound to have registry errors, this is pretty much something that is unavoidable. It would be OK if the system registry wasn’t so important to the rest of the PC. But since it is basically the roadmap to everything on your PC, then you’ll want to make sure it is optimized. Registry errors can have a domino affect on the process of your system and can cause other programs to experience issues. Identifying the issues within your registry can be a time consuming task if done manually, but can be completed pain free and automatically if you have a registry cleaner. Not only that, but can take far less time to complete the process.

Having a trustworthy registry cleaner will prevent errors such as slow PC errors, DLL errors, Windows startup errors, and the dreaded Blue Screen of Death errors, and more.
