Prevent DLL Errors

Have you been experiencing random DLL errors while working with your PC? Would you like to be able to stop them from happening? Your PC usually can operate properly when DLL errors occur, but they can be quite bothersome when you’re trying to get your system to work as efficiently and effectively as possible. The good thing is that these types of errors can be fixed.

DLL - What Is It?

It is very common for people to not know exactly what a DLL is even though they may have first hand experience with errors that refer to DLL files. The acronym DLL stands for Dynamic Link Library, which is very similar in concept to the registry in your PC. The registry keeps track of all of the files, applications, user settings of your program, while a DLL file could be focused on more minute details such as the individual components or data within one singe application on your PC.

The registry contains information about everything that occurs on your PC, even internet programs that are used.

DLL errors are very hard to deal with because of their complicated nature, but errors can occur for a number of reasons including a improper installation, missing installation files, computer crash, or a sudden, unscheduled PC shutdown. There are a many other possible causes of DLL errors, too many in fact to discuss in one sitting. In most cases these types of errors are not harmful, just annoying really.

There are a number of possible solutions for fixing DLL errors that are commonly experienced on the PC. One simple solution is to simply reboot your computer. If the DLL error was caused by a random application glitch, then the reboot will provide an opportunity to start over from the beginning. This may not solve the problem however.

Your next plan of attack would be to check for updates for the application that is experiencing the error. It may be the case that the DLL in question needs to be updated, in which case the problem would fixed. You should make it a habit to update all of your programs on a regular basis.

Running the update process is quite simple, just follow these steps:

1. Click Start.
2. Click Programs.
3. Click Windows Update.

You can also go right to update.Microsoft.com to get the updates that you need.

If you have found that the DLL errors on your PC are malicious, then you may have to take alternative measures to eliminate the problem. If the DLL errors are malicious, then the simple solutions mentioned above most likely will not work. You might instead have to download antivirus and antispyware software to aide in eliminating the issues.

You’ll first want to download and install an antivirus/antispyware program from a source that you are comfortable with. Be sure to watch out for programs that are simply covering up for the spy ware or malware programs that have been created within them. These types of programs are quite common and are marketed by a lot of companies that are greedy and just want your money. If you ever are tempted to download and install software that you found on a popup ad, don’t do it. Chances are it will contain malicious software.

If you happen to fall victim to attacks from any of these types of programs, then your antivirus or antispyware software can help eliminate the issues.

You can also prevent and eliminate DLL errors by using a reputable registry cleaner. When spyware and adware programs make their way onto your PC, you can remove them with the proper tools, but chances are there will be code left behind that can still cause problems on your PC. A registry cleaner will be able to identify and eliminate these little bits of code so they don’t continue to cause problems on your computer.

Registry cleaners are very user friendly, and they can often times be scheduled to run on an automatic basis so you don’t have to constantly baby sit them. You’ll be DLL error free if you use a registry cleaner on your PC.
