Run.dll Error

Locating system errors on your PC can be a frustrating and time consuming task. Your level of frustration will most likely rise if you are not sure how to fix the errors that are occurring. Chances are pretty good that you will experience registry errors at some time when you purchase a new PC, and will have to find a way to resolve those issues so you can get your computer back to the way it was before.

Before you can get down to the business of actually fixing the registry errors, you must have an understanding of what a registry actually is. It is a collection of data, or a database, filled with information about everything that goes on in your computer memory and file system. Sometimes, this collection of data can become cluttered or messed up, and at that point it needs to be cleaned one way or the other. Over time your system registry will collect more and more information, which will provide more opportunity for clutter and mess. This is when system errors are most likely to occur, which will in turn decrease the performance level of your PC.

One of the common issues that you might come across has to do with Run.dll, which is used to execute applications, programs, and whatever else needs to be run. If the Run.dll is no longer valid, or is missing, or contains any flaws, then it cannot load the applications, programs, or any other files and an error is displayed.

This may also be an indication that your system has fallen victim to a virus attack or an attack from spy ware or other malicious software.

You can eliminate the Run.dll error if you take these courses of action:

1. Figuring out what the problem is.

This is where you will be required to identify the process that is causing the error. This is actually quite easy to do. All you have to do is gather up the name of the error and locate it in the online process library. This will help determine if you have a spyware program or a virus on your machine. You can go to www.processlibrary.com to find out more information about the error that you are experiencing.

2. Stop The Process

You can stop the process by click Start, Run, typing in services.msc, and then locating the service that you wish to stop in the Services Management window. Once you’ve located the service that you wish to eliminate, then you can stop it.

3. Delete The Run command in the registry

You can manually delete the run command in the registry by performing the following:
Click Start, Run, type RegEdit, locate “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ RUN”, click "rusvdgpo" = "%System%undll32.exe %System%usvdgpo.dll, [RANDOM LETTERS]", and then delete the value.

Once this has been completed, you can restart your PC.

If you are not comfortable with manually eliminating registry errors from your PC, then you can download and install a registry cleaner which can definitely do the job for you. The registry cleaner will scan your system for errors, and will in many cases find more errors than you would be able to locate if you were manually scanning the registry.

Registry cleaners were created because most users do not have the time or the knowledge to be able to perform these tasks on their own. The benefit is there is very little opportunity for error when using a registry cleaner and the process of scanning your entire PC registry can be completed in a very short amount of time, which can provide you with more time to work on your own projects.
