Windows Startup Errors

You may begin to experience Windows startup errors if your computer’s registry hasn’t been cleaned or maintained in a long period of time. One effective method for prevent Windows startup errors is to perform regularly scheduled maintenance on your system registry. This may only mean performing a system scan once a month, but the point is to try and be proactive so your always preventing errors and not having to fix them.

If you want to maintain the registry on a regular basis, then it’s a good idea that you at least understand what the registry is and what it is there for. Basically, the system registry is a collection of all the data that is related to the programs, applications, user settings, configuration settings, and more on your PC. It is used as a method for keeping all of this data organized and located in one central location instead of al over the place on your PC.

You can view the Windows registry by clicking Start, Run, and then typing RegEdit. Once this program opens up, you will be able to see the registry and all of the data that is found within it. As you can see, it is not real glamorous, as it really does not need to be. Be extra careful not to accidentally delete anything once you are in there because doing so could have serious consequences on your system.

Manually maintaining the registry can be a terrible headache and you can see this if you view and notice all of the data that is found within it. There are pages and pages of data about every little file and folder down to the very lowest level. So you can see why going through it manually could take so long.

Before automated tools, the only option to fix issues in the registry was take it to someone who specialized in that sort or work. Otherwise, if this wasn’t an option, then you basically would have to buy a new machine all together. The other option would be to complete reinstall Windows, but this meant that any data that wasn’t saved was lost during the installation.

Sometime later though the idea of creating a program that would assist you in making changes in the registry. These programs first started out as view only programs that gave you the means to view all of the pages within the registry. Eventually these programs were expanded to included the functionality of being able to tell what programs actually were, which was great if you were trying to identify spyware and malware type programs. Now these programs are even smart enough to now whether or not a program is corrupted or invalid.

There are a number of issues that you might face when you have files that are corrupted or invalid in your system registry. These files often cause system errors on your PC. Corrupted files are files that have become damaged during the normal use, meaning that perhaps part of the code within them has gone missing or is no longer readable.

You may also run into orphan files which are files referenced in the registry that are not associated to any programs on your machine. This may be due to the fact that the program they were associated with is no longer on the machine. This can create clutter in the registry, which can negatively affect the performance of you PC.

If you would like to eliminate these issues, you might want to consider buying a registry cleaner which can quickly and effectively clean your system registry and boost PC performance.
